Edmonton Valley Zoo - Development
With $50-million in construction underway, the Edmonton Valley Zoo is undergoing a significant transformation — continuing to transition from the quaint 1959 Storyland Valley Zoo to a zoo noted for innovative learning opportunities.
The new funding will allow the zoo to realize much of what was originally laid out in the 2005 Master Plan. While that document has evolved, its strategic direction of creating a vibrant new zoo focused on animals in their natural habitats is becoming a reality.

The “On” experience with wallabies, fallow deer and emus. A meandering path will allow visitors to get closer to the animals and move alongside them. On the edges of the exhibit, shelters provide visitors a place to pause and take in the scenery, warm themselves on a cold winter day, or escape the sun at the height of summer.
